Received information about a SKYWARN NCO Class held on May 24 at the PRGE
EOC. Please read email I received below this Email.
Anyone interested please contact Paul/W4ATN.
If we ever get SKYWARN back to the K3CAL Repeater this is a required class
for NCS if SKYWARN is to become one of NWS Sterling SKYWARN Sub-station
In the past it was normal for the SKYWARN NCS to be activated for 5+ hours
sometimes. The more SKYWARN NCS available would be a valuable asset having
NCS working in shifts for times when activations are lengthy.
Years ago and most likely still true today, NWS Sterling needs critical
real-time SKYWARN Reports from southern Calvert County and eastern parts of
St. Marys County as well as the K3CAL Repeater coverage area. We have lots
of hams now in the County so it would be advantageous for us to have active
SKYWARN here. Please consider taking this coarse. SKYWARN NCS Class occurs
very seldom so sign up while the opportunity exists.
