[CALV-ARES] Urgent Request from PRGE ARES - Action Required

Dennis,

If you schedule permits, you could help me at the park. If you have a mobile rig, that would help to, as it is not certain that my HT will be able to reach the SPARC repeater.

I'll send you a copy of the Plan.

Karl

Hello Karl & others, Received an Email from Jim/Wb3KAS, PRGE EC. He says that park is somewhat safe?? One would be there in the morning and out at noon. There are many cyclist arriving & departing at that Rest Stop.I get my new work schedule on Thursday PM or Friday PM (which stinks – no lead time to plan). I may go there if I am not working at the store on Sunday. Heck, you only live once, may as well go for all the gusto. When things go wrong then one has a great story to tell for years! 73. Now that I have gone and volunteered to help out, what exactly do you mean by "unsafe"? Apparently, they plan to have a rest stop there.

Subject: Re: [CALV-ARES] Urgent Request from PRGE ARES - Action RequiredThanks for letting me know David. After sending this email out I heard how unsafe this area is to people. It would be unsafe environment so it would not be wise for anyone to set up a station there. Perhaps PRGE has a police officer that is a ham radio operator that would volunteer to set up there with his police cruiser visible. 73, Dennis From: CALV-ARES [mailto:calv-ares-bounces at mailman.qth.net] On Behalf Of David Hardy via CALV-ARES

It is located at Henson Creek Park near Camp Springs. It is a morning only deployment ending at noon. Would like to have two volunteers to help out. Jim Montgomery/WB3KAS, PRGE ARES EC, would like your phone number to forward to the staff in the Command Center located at National Harbor, Oxon Hill, MD. Also, he is requesting an email address to send operator a copy of the Comm Plan. This would be a HUGE HELP to them! Pease respond ASAP. If you can help this would very much appreciated. Jim is due back in the area Wednesday. Wanda/KA3AHI and him are fly back from NV State Convention. Jim Montgomery’s contact information > wb3kas at aol.com Also, please let me know if you volunteer so I can include your time in my monthly EC report to the ARRL. 73, Dennis/N3QHCARRL MDC EC CALV MD USA nqhc at arrl.net 410.610.9220 ---eom--- ______________________________________________________________CALV-ARES mailing listHome: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/calv-aresHelp: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htmPost: mailto:CALV-ARES at mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.netPlease help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
