Subject: [CALV-ARES] PRAD Parade and CF Cycle Event sign-up
Hello everyone,
October is an active month for our ARES group. We just finished SET 2013 and now we need to coordinate the Patuxent River Day Parade (PRAD) for Sunday, October 13. The coordinator for PRAD wants to meet with one of next Saturday to ensure we the needed personnel to handle this task. Right now, I think if we have 5 stations > one base, Start, Finish and two mobile stations then we should be able to handle what needs to be done. In addition, it would be good to double team all of these positions. Ideally, we are looking for 10 volunteers subject to some last minute adjusting.
Planning on having one Net Control Station with tall antenna and using HT’s to cover the parade.
Please contact me (Email, phone, radio or etc.) if you can assist us with this event.
Also, let me know if you have not done so already if you can assist with the Cystic Fibrosis Cycle Event the following Sunday, October 20. We need hams to cover Start/Finish, 5 Rest Stops and perhaps 3 in the SAG vehicle. Planning to use the CARA repeater to cover the event. If anyone has APRS capability this event would be an time to try using it though we have no specific plan in place for APRS.
73, Dennis
