Joanna,  

Thank you for your flexibility, although I hope you could be in somehow at the same time.  I suggest you and Linda and Jay converse directly by phone or on line on how we might all be able to all squeeze in using a tent and his majesty's good ship Nine-Lives, etc., for that week. Any and all suggestions are open for consideration.  Keep us posted. 
PS:  Let's all realize also that this is January and experience has shown that plans frequently change between now and June so we have time to work this all out.

So it sounds as if we have conflicting requests for the week of June 29-July 6. That week would work extremely well for Cara and I to visit as I get two days off for July 4th, and it would be nice to  celebrate my mom's birthday. Alternatively Cara and I can spend the weekend of June 21-23 with friends in Whitfield, and be in the main house June 24, departing the morning of June 29.

Wow that last week in June is suddenly very popular!  

Phone call w/Joanna last night; she was thinking of coming w/Cara maybe June 29-July 6 to celebrate my birthday and overlap w/Jeanz & Rich, plus Matt if he comes.  Jo was hoping to overlap with other family members and said I should be sure to mention that we would welcome sharing the main house that week. Hmm, we may have to rent to accommodate everyone. 

I’d also like to add Memorial Day weekend to my requests for space; Renae wants to come to visit Stu’s grave on the 26 th,   the anniversary of his death. One bedroom in the main house would still be available plus the cabins if others wanted to come for the long weekend but we’d like to keep things rather quiet.

So just thinking. 

If main house is available 6/28-7/7 (yes I realize we are overlapping weekends and we'll work on the Sat-sat thing) this would work well--tentatively hosting friends over the 6/29 weekend and the Mcgoverns over the 7/6 weekend. Matt is very eager to participate in SYC races. Hopefully we can plan a significant 4th event and should have extra space for the 4th itself (Betsy?). No issue with Christine and Jim on the 12th although it would be nice to see them in Maine. (hopefully also at wedding in NYC 6/1/13?) 

A sad note. My Aunt Doris Hughey passed away this morning. I'll go down to Greenville Il this weekend for memorial service. She and Uncle Mac had a really wonderful trip to Maine a lot of years ago, during which Jay almost did in the entire Hughey family patriarchy in the Gut when 9 Lives crunched into something or other (like rocks). As our Holt kids point out, it is amazing that any of us have survived Maine all these years.

Linda, Thanks for the heads up.  

Christine and Jim (with kids) request "main" house July 13-27.  (A day earlier on the 12th, if possible, so that Alex might race on the 13th) 

(((We hope to start the SYC Race season with two race day weekends (July 6 and 7, and also July 13 and 14)))). 

Susan and I would like the Cabin from June 29 - July 20.  Cabin is free thereafter.  

                                        We plan to share the Main house with the Merrifields July 20- July 27. And then stay on in the main house July 27 - August 11 (or somewhat thereafter if nobody else is interested). 

Suggest Jenz use the weekend of 6 July in main house.

Any general ideas how summer is shaping up for Maine? 

Matt has expressed some interest in 4th of July but it is unlikely Abby would be able to go then so it would just be him. We are hoping to get the McGovern family (Rich's family) up there for a weekend and Jeanz threw out either the weekend after the 4th of July, the 13th or 27th of July. Mr. McGovern is a prior harbor pilot who now works for (I think) Grummen selling engines so he'll be like a duck to water in Maine. 

I am totally flexible at this point and would guess that the festivities surrounding the June wedding will use up much of everyone's vacation time so we'll not likely be heavy users this summer. 

Are there significant constraints on the part of the Merrifields and/or Muench family? We should easily be able to work around everyone else's plans but if we at least have some of the groundwork laid we can take it from there.
