[CALV-ARES] Help needed to support Girl Scout event on Saturday, May 4

A few months ago the Girl Scouts leadership asked me if CALV ARES could give
ham radio demonstrations at this year's Girl Scout event located in
Hughesville.  I contacted Charles County Amateur Radio Club and they said
they could help with this task.  So far they have two hams who volunteered
but could use a couple more hams to help.  If you like to help with this
event please let me know.  

 

The theme for the Girl Scout event is Zombies.  Supposedly, if one can
survive a Zombie attack then one can survive anything.  What the Girl Scouts
are learning is what they can do if the electricity fails, if communications
fail and so forth.  Our part would be to show them there are alternative
methods of communications without depending on Verizon.
