[CALV-ARES] From CALV EC: Questionaire for 2011

Good memory Dick. Actually this call was my long time friend whom became a
SK at 22 years of age in 1969. I never forgot his call (he wouldn't let me)
and one summer before we went into the service we were working for an
electrical contractor at the West Chester Apts. on Cathedral Ave in DC. We
were working in K7UGA's apartment (he wasn't in town but had a nice Collins
setup on the desk). Tony left his QSL card at the radio, and got a great
letter sometime later. After my friend passed I didn't pursue my ticket
because of cw jitters. A couple of years ago I looked up his call and saw it
was still available took my Tech and then General and got his call in 2010.
At last I kept my promise from many years ago that I would eventually become
a Ham; he's probably laughing.taking 57 years to do it. 

Thanks for the comment; I'm glad you had a QSO with Barry Goldwater, not too
many people knew K7UGA; unless you were from Arizona. I think an Arizona
Club holds his call now, 73's.

Wow Jim,  your call brings back memories.   Lookiing at a card up here on
the wall from K7UGA, Barry Goldwater.  Belong to a radio club that he also
belonged to and chatted with him many times in the 80s.
