Hey all,=20
I just got this from Bill Pasternak, WA6ITF from ARNewsline this =
announcement.We would like to invite all of you in the SoCal area to =
join in on this. here is what Bill sent me:

MAY MEETING: DATE CHANGED TO WEDNESDAY MAY 14th

"LAUGH YOUR WAY TO FIELD DAY ON THE BIG SCREEN"

Field Day is a little more than a month away. To get ready for the 2003 =

outing the May meeting of the S.C.A.R.C. will be take you on a trip back =
in=20
time as the club, in association with the Amateur Radio NewslineT =
presents=20
the rollicking ham radio motion picture "Field Day 1973" with the =
Palisades=20
Amateur Radio Club of Culver City.

"Field Day 1971" was produced and edited by George Hively, W6GRH, -- =
then=20
WA6YEA -- as a club project over thirty years ago. Hively, who has =
spent=20
his life in the motion picture business wrote the script, supervised the =

filming, edited it together and provided the music and the narration. =
His=20
half-hour movie is a classic tongue-in-cheek look at the way one of the=20
regions most famous radio clubs of the last century held forth annually =
in=20
the Santa Monica Mountains to conquer the vagaries of the Ionesphere =
while=20
having a jolly old time. Or, was it just having a jolly old time with =
some=20
radios thrown in as an excuse for a hilltop party? Only this movie =
knows=20
for sure!

To accommodate our presenters, the May meeting will take place=20
on Wednesday, May 14th at 7:00 P.M.. The location is the Santa Clarita =

City Hall - City Council Chambers. On hand to show the movie will be =
Bill=20
Pasternak, WA6ITF of Amateur Radio NewslineT (who is one of only two =
people=20
who know how to run it). We also hope to have Producer/Director George=20
Hively, W6GRH, on hand to explain how it was made and answer any =
questions=20
you might have.

Following the movie the club will devote the remainder of the meeting=20
planning our own Field Day 2003 operation.

Again, that's Wednesday May 14th at 7:00 P.M. for a special screening of =

"Field Day 1971" with the Palisades Amateur Radio Club of Culver=20
City. Please plan to be there and bring along a ham radio friend. And =
if=20
you happen to know anyone who was a Palisades Amateur Radio Club member, =

you might want to invite them to attend as well.
