It must be time to stir up the pot again  8*)

I'm looking to mount a relatively cheap radio
in my commute vehicle - maybe something like
a simple 2m mobile... preferably with a remote
head...

Now my commute runs between the Santa Clarita
Valley and W. LA - through the 14, down the 5
and the 405 --- absolute hell for intermod...

Does anything currently on the market hold up 
pretty well against the grunge?
