[CAham] Remote Bases

you know what im  not totaly sure. i thought that if you had a fix freq, remote
base the you had to. but im not to sure and if you do i dont know how that
applies to stearable remotes.

i agree with you. i think that if you really want to talk some distance get on
HF. but it is kinda nice having a linked repeater system. and remotes can be
nice to at times. but when you got a streable remote that causes problems
because there is NO filtering then you got a problem. and plus this will give
hams a bad name when it comes to repeater site. you get some guy that ownes a
site, and some guy said hey can i put my ham repeater in your building and then
after he put it in the other agencys started getting intermod due to this ham
repeater the site owner would 86 the ham repeater and say no more hams here.
well that ruind it for everyone else that might want to go there. but the most
important part is that these remotes, up at 8000 feet (frazier) is jsut
causeing more headaches for the other hams that are also using that freq.
