[Boatanchors] Scammer?

This could be a scam, but not necessarily.  Hold up shipment until the check is received and clears.  You can check with your bank to see if they can "send the check for collection."  This pulls the check out of the traditional Fed check processing.  Rather your bank works directly with the bank where the check was drawn.  Then you'll know definitively if the check is good.  There is usually a fee for this service, but it might be worth it.

Got some emails from

David P Sundberg acewood34567890 at gmail.com

Saying he wanted to buy something I think was listed on QTH swap.

I responded saying he could use Paypal or send a check, and supplied a
mailing address.

Today he said:

"Good afternoon,
I wanted to inform you that I had to leave town on short notice for a quick
surgery and recovery. I apologize for the brief delay. However, my secretary
has already processed the payment, and it is currently in transit to your
mailing address. Please let me know if you are available or away for the
holiday. I can provide you with the Priority Tracking number to ensure
delivery tomorrow (Tuesday). Feel free to reach out if you need any further
details. Thank you for your understanding. "

Should I expect a check made out for $5000 and a not inside saying "keep the
rest" lol.....
