I have a lovely Hallicrafters SX-115 which has a defective mains power
switch. Repair of the existing switch does not seem possible. So I'm
on the hunt for a replacement.
Hallicrafters used a few of these on their older radios. And a couple
of variations even in the SX-115 family over the production period. One
version of this kind of switch is shown below (if the photo goes
through). Any style would be fine in my case.
The switch above fits directly onto the rotary switch shaft and is fully
enclosed. The broken one (photo shown below) is a different style and
uses a cam-activation mechanism. I think any style of this switch could
be made to work as long as the key mechanical aspects are compatible.
These are:
Center-to-center spacking of the wafer switch assembly screws is 1.25"
(1-1/4")
And the wafer switch shaft is 0.25" x 0.125" (1/4" x 1/8")
Very much hoping when you see this email one of your guys will say "oh
yea, I know exactly what he's talking about."
Thanks!
