What "Files" section. We're on boatanchors at mailman.qth.net This is a
text only forum.
Anyway, NCX-3 and NCX-5 and NCX-200 share a number of similar parts.
3-Band transceivers are rather unique; they weren't on the market too
long before 5-Band transceivers came on the market. As such, they seemed
to have developed a bit of collector interest for some reason.
I sold one at flea market in 2023 for $150.
At one time in my deranged mind I collected a number of the National NCX
transceivers. Over time got rid of most, but still have, and are in
active use, an NCX-5 and NCX-3.
You might want to rethink the future of your NCX-3. Putting it by the
curb just gives incentive to those who drive around and pick up curbside
stuff and put it on Ebay to sell.
Hamfests are a good place to find stuff new homes.
Over the past year at various hamfests and local flea markets I have
been putting out stuff for free along with a donation jar. All the monies
in the donation jar is sent to St. Jude Children's Hospital. For 2024, I
collected and sent them $378. Plan to do it again in 2025.
Trying to squeeze the last penny out of a piece of equipment is not worth
my time and energy. Putting it out for free gives interest and a worth
while donation helps the right people.
And, it's a great feeling at the end of the day.
