[Boatanchors] X-Y Safety Capacitors -Advises Sought

Both X & Y can be useful in reducing noise. The X type is intended for use across the hot & neutral power leads. The Y type is intended for use wherever a cap is needed to to connect to a chassis when that chassis could present a shock hazard. At least, that's what I remember reading from a manufacturer's website.

reducing RF noise in a receiver, and I have the DigiKey order page open.
Believe it or not but I didn't have a single 1N4007 in the shack. Thanks.
