Welcome Howard

Im working on a plain 530 now, I replaced the 56K's , all the 470K's....
the 680K's are I think droppers to the panel meter for the voltage mode,
they are usually ok as is the 12/15K and the 1K so I left those alone.

The tube socket solder usually is cracked somewhat, good idea to add solder
to them,
reflow and you will probably note the philips screws on that board are
somewhat loose.
They squish down solder grounds, and over time they loosen and you can
develop poor grounds
on the board. I tighten them and place lock washers on them.

Also while there, measure with an om-meter the cathode resistors from ground
to where pins 1-4-6
tie together in the center with the foil. Should read 5 ohms.

If any higher than that, replace all the 20 ohm cathode resistors. The one I
am doing
reads 7 ohms and I had noticed it was tending to draw more than usual plate
current
when dipping. So I will be replacing them.

Thanks again Steve! I've been "bitten" many times over my 63 years at this
game. Keeping a record of what you write. I'll get to this stuff later today
maybe.
