Scott,
I have and use them and I think they work great for AM, for CW you will want to use an external audio filter like an Autek QF-1 series because it is a bit broad for CW. The 3 tuned IF stages at 260 Khz provide good AM selectivity and are OK but not great for CW.
Harvey also made a general coverage version of the R9 (the RG9) and I have one of those that Harvey rebranded for sale through RCA's marine division.
The transmitter is solid with good audio and both are plenty stable.
Realize that you need an external power supply for both.

Subject: [Boatanchors] Harvey Wells T9 R9 Question
Has anyone here ever used a Harvey Wells T9 and R9? I recently saw a photo of a Harvey-Wells set up in the recent ER magazine and was reminded of how nice they look. How well do they work? 73 Scott WA9WFA
