Thanks for the various inputs on this little adventure.

Just to clear things up, when I work on gear I prefer to do it the old
fashioned way, with no computer or phone. If the manual is online I either
print it out or just the section that has the issue.

Using a dmv can give erroneous results if you read a resistor in line.

My brain likes to only think of one thing at a time (especially as I get
older). Switching gears to mentally calculate resistance for me is a pain.
Inputting colors onto the wheel is a no-brainer.
