I'm on the side of the paper written a few years ago by K9STH. From experience, I tried using 6146B's in Collins and Heathkit final amplifiers. Neither rig liked the B's. Cranky when trying to neutralize, and some internal arching. Circuit changes to the final amps could be made to accommodate the B's, but it was much easier to use straight 6146's or A's.I seem to recall K9STH mentioned you might get away with B's, but it wasn't worth the risk or bother. Search online for K9STH's research and paper.
