[Boatanchors] Bucking Autotransformer - use as combination bucking and isolation?

Okay on the 15 A breaker. I use a combination of auto-transformers
(buck/boost) and variable auto-transformers (Variacs). All purchased
at hamfests over the years. These are nothing but a coil with a lot
of taps; no secondary. The variables have a wiper instead of a bunch
of fixed taps. Whether or not you want to run a load off of line v.
depends on the circumstances. I have a Hallicrafters TO Keyer that
doesn't work unless it has 120 or more volts. However I have a 70
year old Hallicrafters transmitter that will have excessive screen v.
on 807s unless I run it on its designed 115 or less v.
