Right you are - and I built one a long time ago - then used the parts for
other stuff, later. It worked great!!
You can find it in both the 1963 and the 1964 ARRL Radio Amateur's Handbook.
On Page 184 in both editions.
Title of the article on the Handbook was "A 811A 200-Watt Grounded Grid
Linear Amplifier."
Likely it was in QST sometime earlier, but I am not sure of the issue.

Years ago, QST published an article on a single 811 or 811A grounded grid
linear amplifier. I found one of them in a flea market recently, but it
isn't working very well. I'd appreciate a reference to the QST article so I
can get a start on some troubleshooting.
