The Ranger is known for its good keying, uses grid block style as I recall.  Also, go easy on the grid drive to the 6146.  Above 3 ma constantly will cause the tube to deteriorate.  I usually run around 2 ma on CW and 2.5 ma on phone.  Let me know if you would like a Ranger two-way sked sometime.

I get 50W out on CW and that seems about right as it's only a 75W input
transmitter so my 6146 final must be good.? All the dial settings are
pretty close to what the manual calls for and i get a good 2.5 ma of
grid drive.

I'm pretty happy with my purchase even though it called for some work to
clean it up and finding the bad tubes.? sounds good on CW as i didn't
hear any clicks or chirps.

Now to rig up a Mic and see how the 40W or so sounds.
