I picked up a real nice Johnson ranger 1 this weekend at the Tucson 
hamfest.  Great turnout btw.  What is missing is 3 of the knobs are 
missing the small white indicators that stick up out of them.  I know 
one suggestion in the past was to cut off and use part of a Q stick.  
that is kinda loose fitting, i guess one could glue it in place but i am 
a little concerned about doing something like that.  Wasn't there a 
suggestion somewhere in the past where someone found some sort of 
plastic that could be used instead? I'm open for suggestions.

I found a good manual on Edebris, thanks, so what is left are those 
little white things that stick up out of the knobs.

The TX hadn't been operated for a lot of years so i've been cleaning it 
most of the day and now have it warming up under the control of a 
variac.  No sign of any dripping caps and the underside is pristine 
clean.  The only other thing about it might be what is happening with 
that 68 ohm(?) resistor in the vfo box. We will have to see how that 
plays out.

Oh yeah, the rubber seal that goes between the VFO face plate and the 
cabinet.  Is there any kind of source for those any more? This one is 
intact but i s showing some deterioration.
