There is a Transocianic collectors list. I have a 600, not sure what kind of rectifier it has. Lots of information on them. I assume you have looked at bama.  They are good receivers but we're meant for broadcast listening so are not general coverage and don't have a BFO although there are mods to add them. Sent from my Galaxy

A friend has asked me to look at his old radio. It has not been turned on for over 40 years. For its age it is in remarkable shape. The chassis is clean and no signes that anyone has ever opened it up before me.




It is a Zenith Trans Oceanic. The closest match to the case, antennas and chassis I can find is the H500. However the H500 has a selenium rectifier and this radio has a diode. The diode is leadless and snaps into a holder similar to a fuse holder.




I thought, before I did anything to it I would check and see if I could get more information on it. It may have some value to a skilled restorer. Perhaps give the owner some options.
