Correcting or clarifying assembly procedures, typos, pictorial
corrections or changes, changes in part numbers, and maybe EVEN design
changes. Sometime along the design time line, circuit changes were made
to the input circuitry for the SB-200.
The initial release of a Heath manual generally starts with 595-xxx or
595-xxxx. With each new release of a manual, 595-xxx-yy or 595-xxxx-yy.
So an example of a second release of the manual would be 595-xxx-01,
third 595-xxx-02, etc. The only way in most cases to correlate a model
with the proper manual, is to have the one that came with the model when
purchased.
So you get the equipment and find a manual you can never be sure the
manual information is 100% compatible unless you do a complete 1 to 1
part listing and schematic check between the model and the manual you
have.
A quick Google and Ebay search for SB-200 manual turned up 595-682-01,
-04, -06, and -11. Life is never easy.
Back in the "good old days" many vintage amateur radio manufacturers were
known for making changes on the assembly line and never following up with
a revised manual or service addenda notification sheet.
