I should have been clearer, Mark. I was referring to antique radio clubs, not ham clubs. Most antique radio clubs have a lot of members who are interested in boatanchors and ham gear.

You're not going to get anything at a local radio club. We have some active clubs around there and I know of only one other fellow that restores and uses tube radios.
Most of the club members have never seen much less worked with a vacuum tube and totally lack the historical context of what you're trying to sell.
My advice is find someone eager to learn and carry on the tradition and let them have the stuff dirt cheap or free.
Otherwise, I'd use someone like Shumann Auctions (with whom I have no association). Yes they take a bite out of the profit, but getting $50 on a $100 sale is better than getting $5 at a club meeting.

Amen, Steve. Amen.
Many local radio clubs have auctions to raise money for the club, and they welcome donations for these club auctions. This is a way to make sure these old treasurers go to a good home and, as an added bonus, help the local club keep the lights on.

Paul, might I also suggest a third option … if it doesn’t sell then offer it for free. This at least preserve some of these old treasures by keeping them out of the landfill.
Over the years I’ve given tons of stuff away for free to those who I know would appreciate the items and use them. Most of the items have long repaid me for the pleasure they have brought but now someone else can enjoy them too.
