[Boatanchors] National SW-3 Coil Forms Wanted

Been following this thread with some interest. Last year I picked up what looked to be an SW-3, turned out to be someone’s SW-3 box and dial complete with the rosette knobs. For $10 I knew it wouldn’t be a real SW-3 and it wasn’t. But the box, with what looks to be a fairly unmodified chassis, had been turned into a BC and IF signal generator with modulation. Thoughts on what to do with it? I know there are a number of versions of the SW-3, and my first inclination was to restore it insofar as possible to an SW-3. I have some of the various tubes used, and any I don’t have are But the talk here of the coil forms and sockets availability limits that a wee bit! I DO have a complete RAD-2 coil set in the metal case, which I got from Art Hale W4AWS (SK) for use in a replica Millen Single Signal Superhet RF section – built very close to Millen’s design , so similar coils I have, and I could fashion sockets from bakelite or linen phenolic sheets and receptacles drilled from old socket. What to do?

Good for you, Bill, in not wanting to highly modify your radio project.
I cannot for the life of me understand how a ham would want to take a 60
year old radio and then add a toaster or bread slicer to it. Guys
wanting to add a digital display or clock are examples. They totally
destroy the experience of using these fine old radios. Or the guys
butchering a radio to add a vernier tuning unit or adding giant out of
place knobs to their radio. That's like buying a model T car and wanting
to install a digital dashboard to it.
