Hi Bill, Yes, that is an option to change the sockets but I won't do that. It would be a major disruption of the radio and not be an SW-5 to me anymore. I am fine using reproductions, or damaged wire coils and rewinding them myself. I was hoping to at least come up a set of damaged wire coils for rewinding.

Thank you for the information.
If we are not overly concerned about preserving those radios we could change the sockets to something more readily available. Then the resale value would be much lower AND the coils would no longer be interchangeable from radio to radio.
I will take some measurements and try to make suitable plug-in coils.
