Raspy often means a rubbing voice coil.  Can often be fixed. Tahe the speaker out and gently push on the  cone.  If it's rubbing you can usually feel it.  To fix it clamp the magnet in a vice.  Put a low frequency tone from an oscillator on. Gently rock the frame to see what direction makes it clear up and push on the frame until the rubbing stops when you lit go.  Make sure that you put the speaker back with even pressure on the screws.  Have had good luck with this method.Sent from my Galaxy
