Thanks Dave for the great info on the Q6’er.  If someone acquires a copy of that Australian magazine article, I would love to read it.

I worked with those 85 KHz IF transformers for a while in my HBR-13 receiver.  I had ripped them all open, removed the fixed capacitors, and moved the center frequency up to 100 KHz.   It was a real pain.  It would be easier now since I went through it once.  They worked well enough.  Eventually I acquired enough JW Miller 1709 and 1710 IF transformers, and replaced the ARC5 cans.

I’m busy reading the 73 article about the 2Q receiver that Bill Meara posted. I love reading about other peoples homemade receiver adventures.  I’m just finishing the mechanicals for my HB-67 receiver from the 1967 ARRL Handbook.  I’m about a week away from having the chassis and front panel done and ready for wiring.
