[Boatanchors] What is the Q-6'er?

I'm intrigued with the Q-6'er receiver that is mentioned here.  While I'm
familiar with the Q-5'er that uses the BC-453 for the Intermediate Frequency
and beyond, I've never heard of the Q-6'er.  With six 85 KHz transformers,
it sounds like that receiver is trying to achieve a very narrow bandwidth
with a massive number of IFT's.  

I am aware of a QST article maybe in the 1950s about some super stable
receiver operating at a very low 50 KHz IF, and it also used a massive
number of 50 KHz IF transformers to achieve a narrow bandwidth. I wonder if
this is the same project.
