The amp will shut down completely if the in-rush resistor opens and
the relay doesn't short across it.  It doesn't matter if it is wired
for 120 or 240 v.  That's if the amp is competently designed.  Usually
the fan is across one half of the h.v. transformer primary or both if
240 v. AC fan.  You don't want the filaments on with no fan.  So the
in-rush is ahead of all that including filament supply so if it blows
the whole show stops.
