    There is a dedicated Transocianic group on Groups I.O. Try
https://groups.io   and search the list for it. Its not very 
active but I think there may be some hints in its archive.
    As others have pointed out there are many models of the TO 
both vacuum tube and transistor. For a consumer radio they are 
very well built and do outperform most consumer short wave sets.
    The later SS ones have FM and also lW for NDB or European 
broadcasting. I have two, one a series 500 tube set and the other 
a SS receiver that runs on Size D flashlight batteries. Two bad 
there is not much short wave broadcasting to go with it. Most TOs 
do not have BFOs but can be modified. I think a couple of the 
very late models may have them.
