Sounds like that could be the cause for sure.
I ran it thru the Audacity utility a little yesterday with the "distortion"
feature and it seemed to clear it up somewhat.

There is a carrier present, and its possible the carrier heard in the
recording which I think is the Aircraft 400hz Ac power humm is the carrier
perhaps.
