I just got this from eBay so will be true for PAYPAL etc:

"Starting on Jan 1, 2022, we're required by the IRS to collect your full nine-digit Social Security
number (SSN) or Individual Tax Identification Number (ITIN) in order to issue a Form 1099-K to
everyone who sells $600 or more."

The 20K/200sale hallmark is no longer but may come back and haunt some of us  🙁
