The 5U4 needs an octal socket (8 pins), even though the tube itself may have 
only 5 pins. The schematic calls for a 5U4. Maybe someone in the past 
changed it out for an 80 or a 5Z3? That could work if the 5U4 wasn’t called 
on for the max ratings.

My Globe Champ 300a has a socket marked 5U4 but it's a 4 pin socket and not 
a 5 pin like the 5U4 tube is.  Having no documentation to look at, does any 
one know or have an idea of what tube might go there?  Larry/w0ogh
