Is anybody familiar with the Swan Mark 6B six meter and Mark II amplifiers?
(and PS).
I installed the Harbach PS mod in a Mark 6B amplifier and I am not sure of
the wiring to the Hi-LO relay, it appears Swan made a change in the K3 relay
circuit and I don't see a schematic that matches for the 6 meter or Mark II
PS.
I am not sure if a mod was made by someone else, or not. I am to blame for
the problem by not taking pictures of what was there before dismantling the
PS.
The HV part of the Harbach upgrade appears to work great.
It appears from a video I found, K3, (Hi-LO) is energized or picked in the
CW/Tune switch setting. I assumed it was picked at SSB or Hi.
Would anybody confirm the Hi-LO relay is energized in CW/Tune, and
open-deenergized in SSB?
In the RF deck, there is a orange wire on the SSB/CW switch (ceramic layer)
that goes to pin 20 on the rear DC connector, but N/C to any wires I see in
the PS.
The White wire connected the SSB/CW switch does go the relay, through pin
23, but this would energize in SSB?
I can make this work by reversing the connections to the main transformer HV
winding taps, but would like to restore as much as possible to original.
Again, the wiring to K3 and the SSB/CW switch doesn't seem to match any
schematics I was able to find on BAMA.
Thanks for any help,
Gary
