[Boatanchors] Crackle or crinkle paint question...

I'm told the original "wrinkle paint" formulation is extinct,
likely for "environmental" reasons, and what's out there
is a poor excuse for wrinkle paint, being made with
questionable Chinese chemicals. I'm not a Materials
engineer, but I don't doubt it.

After continual mess and frustration, cleaning and stripping
and careful attention to advice and following instructions
and even building a "heat box," then watching the pieces sag
and/or wrinkle unevenly and otherwise look like crap,
then strip and repeat all that again and again, following
instructions carefully only to be rewarded with more crap,
I swore-off (and swore-at) modern "wrinkle paint"
many years ago and I ain't changed my mind one bit.

Now-that being said, this is the first time I have
heard that the powder-coat boys can do wrinkle and
that on the WRL Duobander looks excellent. I'll
check with my local powder coat outfit. They have
done excellent work for me in the past.
