Dear Robert,

as far as I know the ME-398/U is the same as the AN/URM-345 or AN/USM-345. But I did not find any information about this either.

Andy,

I don't have ME-398 in my database but is there by any chance printed on the
nameplate something along the lines of "A Unit of Model AN/URM-nnn"? Where
"nnn" would be some 1 or more digit number?

Subject: [Boatanchors] Manual wanted for ME-398/U Selective Voltmeter

Dear List Members,

recently I bought an ME-398/U selective voltmeter on a swap sale. When I
received this cute meter I found it was defective.

Now I am looking for a manual or at least for a circuit diagram which may
help a bit during my attemps to repair this test equipment.

Are you able to supply such a manual, a copy, a scan or maybe a source where
I could ask for it?
I would appreciate any help and I will pay for any reasonable expenses of
course.

P.S.: It is my intention to use this selective voltmeter as a VLF receiver.
I already have a large ring of flexible plastic tube in my garden and a
matching run of shielded multicore cable which has some 70 insulated litz
wires, from which I will switch some in series and some in parallel,
depending on the frequency range. This will make a nice loop antenna...
