[Boatanchors] Interesting SP-600 JX-11

    I think the only version of the SP-600 that had a product 
detector was the JX-21. These are quite rare. They look like a 
standard SP-600. I think the thing in the picture is a home brew 
modification. Hammarlund made a very good sideband adaptor, the 
HC-10, which could be used on any receiver with an IF between 455 
and 500Khz. It was later built into some models but not the SP-600.
    BTW, I think the SP-600 is one of the best looking receivers 
ever made but the modified thing looks like it came out of the 
Bat Cave. Just ugly, IMO.
