So this Dow Key I was using for the Thunderbolt linear opened up on me,
during a long transmission of cw.....thankfully with no RF passing thru it.

Opened it and looks like decades of fine rust held moisture
and I guess ate thru the windings inside the solenoid, tho its
hard to tell.

My ham pal said to try and rewind it. Anyone here ever try that before?
Its a 120V type winding.
I am thinking maybe heat the frame up, to dislodge the adhesive so the form
will pop out from the case. But maybe its encapsulated so that the windings
are not accessible,
and that would mean I guess soaking it in a solvent to separate the epoxy,
but no clue on what to use.
Of course getting another one 2nd hand is an option.
