Subject: [Heathkit] Apache's
To: <Heathkit at mailman.qth.net>

Hello all,

About 20 years ago, I acquired a nice Apache, a Mohawk and a Warrior.
All in good condition and I've
had a ball with that station for, like I said about 20 years. I still
use it on a regular basis and believe it
or not I have a Model 28 RTTY machine fed by a HAL ST-6000 hooked up
with it.

Along with those items, the seller included two more Apache's! Yup, a
total of 3 Apache transmitters.

Now, the 2 additional units were untested. He told me that they were
complete and as far as he knew at the
time they powered up and probably ran OK. He was a good guy, reputable
and I believe him.

So, my plan was to go through the 2 "extra" TX1's, see what kind of
condition they were in and then maybe have a nice
restoration project for the long Winter or just sell them as they were.

Of course, you know what happened. They just sat. They've literally
sat for 20 years in my shack. As I'm sure you know
they're not the kind of rigs you move around much!

So, now I've been trying to figure out what to do with them. I really
don't want them anymore. Believe it or not, I've never even opened
them up. My guess is that they are complete and with some TLC, some
new Caps, Resistors, maybe some tubes, a few adjustments....I think that
they might come to life again!

If I could find someone who would like them and is willing to pick them
up (about 20 miles South of Boston MA) then I'd let the two of them go
for $150.

If no one wants them, I have considered parting them out and putting
the parts on Ebay or Facebook Marketplace or something like that.

I actually have an extra front panel that I'll toss in too by the way,
although the others are not bad. These radios are in pretty good shape
considering that they've been hanging around all this time!

Ideally, someone will come by, buy them, I'll help load them into their
vehicle and that will be that.

Of, I'll part them out and see how I do.

Or, and I hate this idea, I'll sell them for scrap. I HATE that idea
but I've got to free up some space here.

If any of you have interest or even an idea that I haven't thought of, I
welcome your thoughts.

Thanks for listening and 73
