[Boatanchors] Mixer Troubleshooting Question For my Homebrew Superhet Novice Receiver

Another thought as I’m sitting in my comfy chair thinking this over.  I was expecting to clearly see the mixer additive and subractive frequencies on the spectrum analyzer but I’m not really.  Maybe it’s due to SA operator error.

I know I have a problem with the HF oscillator running too high so I know I need to fix that before the 455 KHz crystal filters will work .  Maybe the mixer is working and I don’t know it.  Maybe I should fix the HF oscillator first and put it back at 7450 KHz so the IF comes out right for the 455 KHz crystal filters, then look at the signal on the other side of the crystal filter instead of the mixer.  

Just thinking out loud.
