That is an excellent price for a very interesting and somewhat scarce radio.  I own one and went through mine several years ago and it has been quite reliable.  Mine still has the original display which works perfectly.

Whoever buys this should spend time going through the power supply section which is typically the problematic part.  It was a decently designed power supply but there is a lot going on with that board with everything from very low positive and negative voltages plus the higher voltage for the nixie and final.  Modern three terminal regulators are much simpler and reliable than the discrete component approach that was necessary when this set was designed.

I first saw one of these when I was a new novice in the 1970s and the oldest member of our local radio club owned one.  A lucky buyer will have a very fun winter project and a great set when he is finished.  I have mine paired with an Alpha 274 which was also designed by the designer of the CX-7.

My CX7A has been sitting on the shelf above the bench for 20 years. I had
visions of replacing the troublesome nixie tube display with a 7 segment but
never got around to it. It
hasn't had power applied in at least 20 years. The last thing I recall doing was replacing the power supply caps in the late 90's.
I have all the original manuals. For $300 I will deliver or meet you within a
few hours of St. Paul MN. I suspect shipping would be prohibitive.
