It may depend on the gas.  I have a 3B28 full wave bridge circuit in
the RF h.v. supply for my 3-400 rig and unlike mercs, I can barely see
the xenon glow.  I have to have all the lights off and only then see a
faint deep purple glow.

I don't know what gas is used in the OB3.
