[Boatanchors] Looking for some Octal plug long tubular covers

Sometime back it seems to me I saw mention of someone making long 1" dia covers
for octal plugs enabling one to make a custom plug in capacitor can.

Does anyone happen to remember that source?

Octal plug rear snap on shoulders have a diameter of about 1.160" so PVC pipe (Sch 40)
with 1.029 is close enough to warrant some ingenuity in adapting.  But, not going to buy
a lathe for that.   Perhaps filing down the shoulders of the plug a bit is the trick.

Has anyone come up with a method that seems to be the way to go?
