I believe there was an article in a early handbook or "Hints and Kinks" on making such a FT243 plug....Also, there were similar plug and sockets made in the early TV days for quick disconnect for the 300 Ohm twinlead for ones TV(same pin size/spacing)....Hal/WB4AEG

Paul,

If there was ever one made, I never came across it. Easiest solution is to
gut an FT-243 that isn't on a useful frequency. Be sure or grind or mill
the frequency off the side plate. Drill a hole through the top to match the
cable OD, and cinch a tie-wrap around the cord after it is installed.
Discard the crystal, spring and two contact plates. The only problem with
it is that there is no way to prevent anyone from plugging it in 180 degrees
out from what was intended. So if one of the two wires is ground, be sure
to so mark the holder that is now a connector.

Anyone know a source for a 2-pin plug that's compatible with a FT-243
crystal socket? I know the standard octal socket pin size and spacing works
but that's an option of last resort. Thanks!
