The DJ0IP website (www.dj0ip.de) has lots of good info on
wire antennas and lots of other worthwhile stuff! It will keep
you occupied for MANY hours (days?).

I think the confusing part was " "random-wire" end-fed antennas "; what was meant is random length end-fed (or center fed) antennas.
Don, thanks for posting those links. The one I've used is http://ocarc.us/docs/antennas/MultibandCenterfedZepp.pdf<https://nam11.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Focarc.us%2Fdocs%2Fantennas%2FMultibandCenterfedZepp.pdf&data=04%7C01%7C%7C7ededa1e2d42410dedab08d890746c5d%7C84df9e7fe9f640afb435aaaaaaaaaaaa%7C1%7C0%7C637418176985678850%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C1000&sdata=mszW%2FFN62QxP5M5hjsYW6b4ZyGX2aLmfBxW%2B%2FSuceto%3D&reserved=0>.

NO problem if you are talking about a single band 1/2 wave dipole.
This all about building an ALL-BAND antenna, either end-fed or fed
at center with parallel line (ladder/window/open wire).
Sorry if that was not obvious.
An E.F. Johnson matchbox may very well match just about any load,
regardless of impedance and wild reactance.

Thanks for taking the time to post this data.

I guess I don't understand what this means. If I am correct it tells
me that a 80 m. half wave dipole fed in the center with each side 65
feet long is "bad." That's a 1/2 wave dipole 130 feet long which
according to the ancient formula is cut for 3600 kc. That's exactly
what I have, fed with ladder line and a KW Matchbox and it works FB.
The numbers list says 130, 128 and 132 feet are bad. Does this mean
131 feet is okay? That seems ridiculous. So I must not understand
this.
