[Boatanchors] Hallicrafters SX-88 dial belt

My SX-88s frequency dial "shutter light changer" belt died. I've seen
numerous articles in groups like this about them ... but nothing recent except
that a batch of new ones made some years ago seems (and I do emphasize seems)
to be sold out.
What to do!?
of course the radio still works, and you can move them by hand
