    Not a direct answer because I don't seem to have those 
editions, however, I have a 1957 edition with the 5100B and the 
51SB and 51SB-B in it. I also found a web site with the 5100 on 
it stating that there was a review of it in QST for March 1955

    I have an early 51SB with its own power supply which I used 
on the air long ago in an otherwise home brew rig.
    I thought I had all the ARRL Handbooks around these dates but 
they must be in storage.
    Also saw your beautifully restored 5100 on your web site.
