[Boatanchors] Parts for building stuff

Most of what I have is from hamfests. If you buy everything new, a
project will cost a fortune. Look at the ARRL Hamfest Calendar
on-line to find ones that have not been cancelled. There you meet
other local hams who are interested in the same thing. There may be a
surplus store in your area. Find out if there is an Antique Radio
Club in your state. They may have swap meets. Even though their
interest is old consoles and audio gear, there is a lot of overlap
with ham radio. By attending local functions you will build a network
of friends who help each other mutually. Peruse classifieds on-line
and in the back of ER. New is great....for electrolytic capacitors,
rubber bumpers and grommets and power cords. Everything else can be
NOS or used.
