The AO-109 I was stationed on as an ET 1961-early 63 was comissioned in 1945
and Emergency Radio carried a RAK/RAL, RBB/RBC, plus a TCS-13 which was
powered by a massive battery in a holder in the port/starboard passegway
just behind the well declk. It was also used on Shore Patrol.

I forget the TX used but it had a HF and MF band and a 803 final if I
remember. It vever needed service while I was there and I was allowed to use
the TCS on hambands.

I was so impressed by those RX that I own all 4 and use them at times.

Carl
